The Darmstadt weekly market takes place on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays on Darmstadt’s market square, between the Residenzschloss (Residenz Palace) and the Old Town Hall. In addition to the traditional market offerings, “Zwei Heiner” (Two Heiners) with their mobile coffee bar and Hill’s Wine Hut are also on site on Saturdays during the season.

From April 26 to October 26, 2025, the Spanish Tower Sculpture Garden will present the exhibition TONY CRAGG in Darmstadt’s public space. The extensive oeuvre of the internationally renowned sculptor of the same name includes sculptures, drawings, and installations. Always characterized by an intensive exploration of natural forms and structures, his sculptures reference organic elements from nature.

Vom 29. Juni 2025 bis 1. Februar 2026 zeigt das Institut Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt eine Einzelausstellung der international renommierten Installations- und Performancekünstlerin Nevin Aladağ (*1972 Van, Türkei, lebt und arbeitet in Berlin). Spielerisch verknüpft Aladağ künstlerische Ausdrucksformen wie Skulptur, Malerei, Textil, Video und Sound zu multimedialen Arbeiten. Im Experimentieren mit Form-, Material- und Klangeigenschaften aktiviert die Künstlerin ein neues Wahrnehmungserlebnis. Für die Ausstellung auf der Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt entsteht eine ortsspezifische Installation, welche die Grenzen von Gattungen, Körper und Raum auslotet.

The scientific exhibition at the Hessian State Museum in Darmstadt invites you on an exciting journey through the world of clouds. Featuring breathtaking multimedia visualizations of spectacular weather events, current scientific information, 3D cloud models, and exhibits from the Hessian State Museum’s collection, the exhibition brings to life what’s happening in the sky above our heads. In the Cloud Chamber, visitors can experience the phenomenon of cloud formation firsthand.

The Princely Garden Festival at Wolfsgarten Castle will take place from 19 to 21 September 2025 under the special theme “Water in the Garden”.

In the castle park, traders, craftsmen, knights, and stages are set up. The event showcases crafts, trade, and entertainment as it was 500 years ago. The dragon Fangthorn guards the elves’ treasure from robbers. The show takes place three times a day and is especially popular with children. A program of music and juggling complements the colorful market activity.
